This deal, with a $8 (my value) charger - comes out at $2.25 each for higher capacity batteries with much shorter lifespans.
Does anyone else have similar math when figuring out Eneloop deals?

The Pro versions have shorter lifespans?

Sound logic. Though if using for remote controls or game controllers, should still be good for close 10 years if charged once a week.
Of course, based on time/frequency I have to put into playing video games these days.
Costco Kirkland AA are good but .30 each. 8 charges (less cost to charge them) and you've paid the same. I say decent deal.

I'm not sure how much better the "Pro's" are required for a game controller use (I am aware that any gain in speed is everything with gaming - but does it apply in a game controller). Camera's and flash type devices...I'm sure that extra boost in the Eneloop black power is important and needed over white.
This is shipped and sold by Amazon. I dont believe that would happen unless it was third party.
Edit: I purchased these before and again last week when it was posted and it was not counterfeit.

Wrong. Amazon comingles inventory.

You are correct. There is bin mingling at Amazon with any product, which means products sent in by 3rd party sellers are mixed up with the real products, and you don't really know what you are getting because when a picker grabs your product out of the bin at the amazon warehouse they aren't checking that. Even if you order sold and shipped by amazon dot com, there still could be bin mingling.
