The Versa-Handle system lets you adjust power and speed in under a minute, and the frame-flush ratcheting lever drag is rock-solid and ergonomic. Line capacity rings let you monitor topshot and capacity at a glance, and the DuraDrag® washers eliminate hesitation. Forged and machined-aluminum spool; high-strength bronze main/pinion gears; 5 shielded stainless bearings plus roller bearing.
    The rod is built on a strong 1 piece tubular glass blank with an extra-strong solid fiberglass tip that gives you all the power you need for the meanest gamefish. The stainless steel guides are fitted with corrosion-resistant aluminum oxide inserts, and the strong but light graphite reel seat holds the reel securely. Slick butt sections work well with rod holders, and EVA foregrips make it easy to handle.

    I just tried sea fishing for the first time. No clue what I was doing but caught some sculpin and I was hooked. Are any of these recommended for that kind of fishing? I eventually wanna try tuna like all the other folk.(yes pun was intended)

    I use then 16vs for everything up to yellow tail and the 30vsw for yellow/blue fin in San Diego every year. They are good budget reels. Make sure you wash them down after every trip. Been using both since 2015. They will get the job done without breaking the bank.
