I have played every single Fallout games (back when they first came out, damn, I am old) and these early ones are great. Play them for the story and not the graphics. Also, for Tactics, you would likely need to download a separate mod to limit the in game frame rate as the random encounter portion uses the in game frame rate as a counter, and with the insanely high fps modern CPU/graphics can generate for old games, it becomes an issue.

Can we stop posting deals before they go live? I usually miss them because they are buried by the time the day comes around.

This is a repeat, but great opportunity for those who missed it before to pick up these classic games.(I haven't played these myself, but have greatly enjoyed later games in this series.)

I have played every single Fallout games (back when they first came out, damn, I am old) and these early ones are great. Play them for the story and not the graphics. The nukes going off in the intro to Fallout set to the song I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire is one of the greatest things ever. I also remember stumbling upon a UFO in the desert somewhere which earned me an overpowered ray gun with a very short range.

I used to love the old Fallout games. But now that I've played the modern ones, especially New Vegas, I tried to go back to these old ones and just couldn't get into any of them.

Yeah but first time I played them it was just really great. Bethesda and Fallout success had to do with how it can work on so many low performance PCs back in the day. It worked on my first couple of Intel w onboard video back in the day.

Agreed. However to their credit, the amount of YMMV spam has dropped tremendously.

SD needs a reddit's !remindme function. I don't mind the deals to be posted early but certainly would be nice to get reminded of it later when I can take advantage of it.

I loved Fallout 3 and New Vegas and enjoyed Fallout 4. Pretty stoked for this deal to enjoy and explore the origins of the series.

For anyone thinking about trying the older Fallout games coming from the newer ones:

These are much more difficult and can be quite unforgiving at times. Save often and in different slots.
