I have never bought a refurbished camera but I have seen friends that have and the shutter count was not reset.

Yes, I saw that; I basically listed every camera just for the heck of it.

Where do you see that? I only see https://www.ebay.com/itm/325509734983 [ebay.com] on buydig's eBay site and it doesn't work with the presidents day 20% off coupon.

You are correct, the camera on sale with the 20% is the Nikon Z 30 Mirrorless Camera + NIKKOR Z DX 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 VR Lens on buydig's eBay page.

Typically no, the shutter count is not reset. That said, my refurb'd D7500 showed up with a shutter count of just 45. I haven't heard of too many refurbished Nikons being bought with high shutter count. Most of them have pretty low shutter count just due to the short warranty period.

After seeing my low shutter count, my theory is some of them are even just buyers remorse returns that Nikon is selling as refurbished.

My D7500 showed up in similar condition. Shutter count was under 20. I also went with a Z6 refurb when I upgraded and that was also about 15 direct from Nikon refurb.

I do believe most of these are just generally open box condition. I wouldn't be able to tell either was not new based on condition.

I want to record water polo mostly during the day preferably 4k 1h long recordings. I have an assortment of mid grade F mountain lenses already. What's a good body that's up to this task.

I'm starting a small business. Is this a good beginner camera to take high quality pictures and (maybe) some video with for my social media? It's a workout product so it would include both gym and outdoor lighting.

camera wise, entry-level full frame should work fine. but you need good lens which is expensive, but there's rental option available.

I never buy new Nikon bodies, always buy factory refurb. There's little reason to buy new imo.

IMO no, the reason to buy Nikon is if you have F lenses already or you're familiar with Nikon interface already. Or if you plan to spend $10k on lenses. Otherwise just get one of the other mirrorless brands.
