I think it's their product line for corporate users, think about Thinkpad (well, just from HP). Should be solid. Definitely better than Envy, Inspiron, or Pavilion

Better to actually read before posting.
They're not even the same models.

The above user's point is valid, but I can't confirm since it's not mentioned on their page neither is their online chat open currently; but more chances are that it might be refurbished.
Even then, it's still a very good deal for the specs you'd be getting.

What's the build quality of elitebook? Where's does it rank compared to Pavillion, Pavillion plus, envy and spectre?

These were released around early 21'.

If these were released about 2 year leased corporate laptops; likely not that great of a deal if refurbished corporate laptops.

If new; tthis is a great deal for a Zen 3 laptop with good build quality, upgradable ram and SSD. Don't be mistaken; this processor is way better than the 5700u crap Slickdealers like to foolishly buy.

Above all those models. Elitebook 84X series are 14 inch mid-range business laptop. These are standard issued laptops at many large companies. Built quality is solid.

I think most business people I know tend to put HP Elitebooks about on par with Dell Latitudes, both being a step below Thinkpads in durability and build quality. I've had several Elitebooks and generally been happy with them but the build qality is noticeably inferior to the full fledged Thinkpad lines (not the cost cut Thinkbook and lower end Thinkpad lines that Lenovo has experimented with lately).

I see a lot of stock in multiple stores. If open box appeared it would be amazing.

More evidence this is refurb: another URL from Microcenter w/ "(refurbished)" in the address [microcenter.com], but it appears to be the same exact page as OP's link. Also, the SKU, Mfr Part #, and UPC only show this laptop at Microcenter, there shouldn't be any reason for a new unit to have all that info unique to one store. The datasheet for this model [hp.com] is also from 2020, and since this was a business-targeted model, these are probably off-lease or returns/refurbs, but some never-used months-old units could be mixed in.
