You're exactly right. I love it. Inflation sucks. But it has its perks. Our dollar is strong vs other countries who have not been raising interest rates to match.

Can pick up some nice JDM gear for about the same price as domestic versions.

Amazon.com Search for shimano stella. Look for amazon japan as seller. I got C3000SDHHG for upcoming fluke season.

The Amazon JP link for the Stella is about as cheap as I've seen that thing, even on other JP tackle sites. Just know the SDH doesn't have a power knob or a t handle. It has a dual "I knob" like a bait caster.

Of course if you bring that into the conversation. Then the conversation changes. But that's beyond the topic of this thread imho.

I was simply adding on to what the person said above…in the contexts of buying fishing reels from overseas retailers, you can find some good deals or have access to upper tier reels and rods now that the exchange rate favors the dollar.

I don't know anything about fishing, but since the prices seem to be decent and the reviews are glowing, I'm thinking of getting one as a gift of my Father-in-law. He lives in Poland and it seems fishing is all he does. What are the differences among the 3? I generally just get whatever is most expensive, but don't want to get something that's overkill. I don't know what kind of fishing he does and if these are specific for a particular type. Would appreciate any and all recommendations.
