If you like Lara Bars and live near a Grocery Outlet, check them out. Mine (SF Bay Area) has had 6-packs for $1.99 and 8-packs for $2.99 lately. (various flavors, 1.6 oz bars)

Don't eat them if you're sitting on the couch and doing nothing. These are for when you're going to be out working, hiking, etc and burning 1000+ calories and want something healthy and easy to bring along instead of stopping for trash at a fast food joint (if that's even available).

You will be hard pressed to find a better alternative. Jerky? It's loaded with sugar and a lot more expensive.

Lemon is excellent, Blueberry Muffin is very good. Apple Pie is nasty, and tastes nothing like apple pie or apples.
