For the Insight this is a replacement for the lead acid battery under the hood. This is NOT Integrated Motor Assist battery.

To each their own, they're well-known on the EV forums.

They do exist, seeing as you can pick up the battery in person from their facility in Prescott, AZ instead of having it shipped.

I looked at 1 battery and it said only later generations have BMS, which stops it from over charging. Bms is what you need, and an mppt. but the battery is 45Ah so you are going to need twice as many relative to 100 Ah batteries.

As someone who works for a major automaker that uses a both lead acid and lithium ion 12V batteries, I'd like to suggest some caution. The charging system has to be able to properly charge a lithium battery. In know these are LiFePO4 and supposedly have some sort of internal charge control, but I would just get what your vehicle is designed for. Too many variables to be able to properly account for.
