i expected it to be thin and flexible but it was surprisingly strong. I haven't got anything perfectly square to test it out.the measurements and coating seems like they would wear off with extended hard use but I don't plan on using it that often

I'd buy 2 of these, confirm the measurement markings are consistent and then return 1. Yes it's only $4 but if the markings are off then you're going to hate yourself when a project gets messed up. I do this in store anytime I buy a tape measure or any trim, carpenter or rafter square. I've avoided buying bad tools of all different brands. Just no quality control anymore.

This isn't a level. It is a square. It will show you 90° from a reference line but doesn't know whether that line is level or plumb.
