These have user-upgradable memory, so if you don't mind doing it yourself it's quite cheap to upgrade. See page 42:

Cons of this model:

No USB-C port (for the millionth time; it's Dell's fault though for making it look confusing).

HDMI max output is 1080p (no 4k output).

Reports of hinge issues.

Upgrading from 8GB to 16GB RAM is $250 more. That's insane!

Other than non-backlight key board which is one point, does it have touch screen?

The build quality isn't the best but for the price, it's a pretty good deal.

Clearly says Inspiron, not Precision.

It's $300 laptop. They're not making a dime off of these. They're just to get the volume out there for all the parts they buy in bulk.

It is quite insane for 8GB more to be $250 upsell. It has been pretty much standard practice for major OEMs to charge a lot for upgrades like that for many years though. But this is over 1000% profit for them. Frown

Compatible 8GB stick would be about $20 more and Dell gets it cheaper.

example Crucial's site has compatible parts :

"45% NTSC"

The screen is straight trash... But for $320 it might be okay. Just manage expectations.
