We all smell different things, but I strongly disagree with this statement. To my nose, Oud Noir has a very approachable, entry-level oud that doesn't have a funk/barnyard spin that can turn most people off. Come to think of it, I think this was the first oud frag I ever bought.
This is also a moot point because you should never buy fragrances off of Amazon. Your odds of getting scammed/counterfeit bottles is high. Reputable fragrance discounters (Jomashop/Giftexpress/Fragrancebuy) have testers for $55 or less anyway, so shop elsewhere.
I have this scent and like it. If you are not into fragrances, this is one you should test first. It's not the typical sweet smelling cologne style you are probably accustom to. I like it, but I have a few different bottles. I may buy another as a back up. I've heard this may be discontinued. "I've heard" this, but have no evidence tis is the case. I totally agree with both posters before me. Both views are or can be true.
I like it, but that's me. If you don't know what oud is, than it'll be new to you.

This fragrance has dominating note of Oud. Oud is popular is middle eastern products, it smells like rotten wood, sometimes it can even come off like fecal matter. Highly recommend testing this first before buying.

If you think Oud can sometime smells like rotten wood or fecal matter, then I suggest it's time for you to visit an ENT
Oud Noir is the western take on Oud. Think Tom Ford oud Wood. Neither are actually Oud ish.
Great fragrance but getting a real one that lasts for 6-8 hours, is tough. Especially with the new batches being watered the F down.
Unfortunately there aren't even any popular clones for Oud Noir. But Oud Wood has several inspired by frags . Even designer brand Thameen Carved Oud cloned Oud Wood like how Nishane (hacivat) did Aventus.

Personally, I think that no one should spend $50+ on a fragrance that they haven't tried first. There are a few sites out there that offer small samples of a wide variety of scents and people can also stop by Sephora or whatever to try stuff out. Some scents just don't match up well with you, others you may not personally like the smell of, and if you have a spouse/significant other there's another factor to take into consideration.

This fragrance is nothing like Eastern Oud. Even Eastern Oud has several families, cleaner take (white oud) and regular oud (pure oud usually has a strong repulsive scent for most people. looks like glue in hand)
This is complete Western take on Oud; like Oud Wood by Tom Ford. A Half Eastern take is Initios Oud for Greatness.
Not many Western brands do actual Oud. It just wouldn't sell much where they usually market their stuff.

I have this and never thought I smelled like crap on crap. Maybe you got a fake?

This is such a dumb comment.. Oud smells fantastic. Literally a nice earthy smell, it's not like you're putting on old 2000s blue water..

I thought it was interesting and something I'd should know and look into. Totally beneficial to the community, you guys are scaring off everyone from discussing deals here on sd. Totally different than 10 years ago. You're all salesman
