Japan and the US have the some power outlets. It's just the warranty in this case.

it will work but it won't have a warranty in the US. nintendo will still fix your joy-cons for free even if you don't have a warranty, though

The Japanese model wifi issue will depend on your specific wireless settings for 5ghz. Basically your home wifi router broadcasts 5ghz on different "channels" depending which channels your neighbor is using. In Japan, the number of channels a 5ghz wifi router can choose from to broadcast on is around 50. In U.S. it is around 200. So if your home router is broadcasting on a channel that is not available in Japan then your switch won't work with your home router. So your option is 1. Force your router to broadcast on a compatible channel or 2. Mod your switch so you can change the wireless region from Japan to U.S. 3. Connect over 2.4ghz network instead of 5ghz network

For most people this will be a non issue, but it absolutely is a possible issue.

International Consoles do ot work with US Accounts and they also run into issues connecting to Wifi. There is a reason they are so much less.
Maybe you're thinking of other consoles, but the Nintendo switch in Japan is the same exact one you find sold in the US.

I bought a Japanese switch from Woot and it's worked great! No issues connecting to wifi, charger is the same as the US charger. Obviously the warranty is different, but I figured that Nintendo products are made so well that my chances of having a problem were low.

I just bought an OLED switch in Japan at MSRP minus 10% purchasing it tax feee from a major retailer for 34,200 yen = $230 so these sellers are just marking it up from there. It works totally fine in the US. I was fine saving $150 and not having a US warranty. Even at $288 it's still a good deal.

There are issues with the Japanese version being used in the US with some WiFi configurations and the power adapter. Also no Warrenty or support if there are future issues. Not a good buy if you can hold off for the switch 2.
Switch 2 wont be hacked for a while. For Switch 1 you got MigSwitch and modchip.

Weird, I just read that someone already confirmed that it won't release till 2025. Maybe you're confused with ps5 pro that still has a chance of coming out this year.

You're right. Yen rate is ¥150=$1 now. I'll buy it when I go to Japan this summer

It always cracks me up how often people throw around rumors and best guesses as fact. Granted I'm not the expert of gaming news, but the last I checked the rumor was that the next console has been pushed back to 2025 because of a lack of launch games. But these are rumors, nothing more, and until Nintendo actually announces it, that's all it will be, a rumor.

Lol pretty much. Just like the most recent "Microsoft plans to discontinue the xbox console and focus on making games only".
