Diesel oil can usually be used in gasoline engines, especially if it is API rated. Lawn mowers and zero turns also love it.

I wouldn't recommend 15W-40 in your 0W-16 Toyota. But in something that calls for an XW-30 is usually reasonable, especially if it needs some TLC (leaks, needs cleaning/gunked up).

You can self-prescribe but the second number is most important of the two so you a vehicle that calls for a 5w30 can take a 0w30 or 10w30. I would not use a 15w40 in place of a fixed weight 30. At a minimum you're going to make that engine work harder. This is advice from oil chemical engineers.

The landscape company that I was with used 10W-40 oil in their motors and they worked for years no issues in extreme heat of Florida. So I even used it in my home stuff even a power washer motor that same weight and I have a engine that is over 20 years old still using that oil weight. So maybe it depends what the environment you're in

I use 1540 in all my stuff. A vehicle with 100k miles doesn't care. Clearances are established. Zinc content is higher than other "green" oils. I worked for a municipality that ran delo in every vehicle from garbage trucks, 4.6 worn out police fords, and lawn equipment
etc. No bearing failures ever.

Does walmart.com count? I didn't see it listed but see a bunch of specific stores
