About this Book:
  • For twelve thousand years the Galactic Empire has ruled supreme. Now it is dying. But only Hari Seldon, creator of the revolutionary science of psychohistory, can see into the future—to a dark age of ignorance, barbarism, and warfare that will last thirty thousand years. To preserve knowledge and save humankind, Seldon gathers the best minds in the Empire—both scientists and scholars—and brings them to a bleak planet at the edge of the galaxy to serve as a beacon of hope for future generations. He calls his sanctuary the Foundation.

This story inspired Star Trek, Star Wars, Ender's Game, and more. It's worth the read, but remember, early sci fi isn't as polished as the three titles I mentioned. Also remember, these were compiled from serials Asimov wrote for magazines and stitched together. So it's a bit janky at times with story cuts.

It's about space Nazis/roman-empire and a dude who can use math to predict the future who tries to build a new society.

Quote from MadPup :
Asimov's stories and ideas were great, but his prose was not. I like to watch his stories on tv and movies, but reading them... not so much.

I agree. I thought his stories were fantastic when I was 15.
