The Xbox version is the best option especially with the One X graphics boost back when that was a thing last generation.

I've played a massive amount of games since the days of the NES and nothing comes close to what NieR Auotmata is.
Just ensure that you are playing it in as high fidelity (video and sound) and in a private environment as possible.
To me it was incredibly adept at pulling me into its world - something I credit to the setting I chose to play it in.
