$59 is a good price but $172 is such an insane 'regular' price. Anbernic's own website price is $68 (without shipping), so don't think you're getting the deal of the year here.
These machines have two micro SD slots. The base option for $59 comes with one 64GB micro SD card containing the operating system and some games. For an extra $8 you can get an additional 128GB micro SD in the second slot containing more games. Expect the quality of these cards to be poor, so many people buy better quality cards and immediately transfer the content to them.
I don't know which emulators and games come preloaded on these cards, but maybe someone here who already bought one can comment.
Personally, I have had really bad luck buying these cheap consoles from China. Of two recent orders from different vendors, I have failed to receive either of them. For this reason, the $4 shipping insurance might be worth adding, I don't know for sure.

Just picked up an R36s. Anyone know how much more powerful this would be, if at all? Was thinking of getting a Retroid but this mig jt be ok for a similar form factor.
Long shot question but does anyone know if these RG35XX H are the same dimensions as the RG350M or RG351MP ? RG350M and RG351MP are slightly different sizes from each other but there are 3D printer files to make grips for them on thingiverse and a while ago I ordered some on treatstock. I should probably ask on reddit or something but it hasn't been a priority. Haven't been able to find an answer anywhere on the web.

This and the R36s should have similar performance. Both will run everything up to PS1 without issue and stuff like Dreamcast, N64 and PSP will be hit or miss. If you already have a R36s I would skip this unless you want a horizontal form factor, wireless connectivity and better build quality. The stock OS is better on the R36s also.

I don't think they're exactly the same, I wanted to print a grip for mine as well but haven't been able to find a design yet. I'm pretty sure one of the review videos I've seen compared it to those other two but I couldn't tell you which.
Edit: I found the video, it was Retro Game Corps. https://youtu.be/S6rRbb0yq84?si=avq7I5UsUqTK408k
It actually looks very close to the RG350P, the RG351MP, and the RG353M. I can try to print some grips out when I get home and let you know if it works.

Mine came with like 5000 games. Mostly 16-bit era and under and a handful of games for PSP, etc. Notably NO Mario games but huge libraries for NES, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy, etc.

Still waiting on the one I ordered two weeks ago. They "shipped" my order almost immediately, but it didn't actually leave their facility until yesterday. I'm not too pleased with these guys, honestly.

Bought this last time it popped up and love it for the price. Most reviews peg it as good build quality but a bad OS, which is pretty spot on. The OS is functional, it's just not pretty. It's also loaded with a bunch of games so if you're just looking for something ready to go for 16-bit games out of the box, it's a good buy. If you're like me and like to tinker, install Batocera for a better experience.

Edit #2: I printed this case for the RG353M and it fit perfectly:
