  • About these movies:
    • Dune: A mythic and emotionally charged hero's journey, "Dune" tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence—a commodity capable of unlocking humanity's greatest potential—only those who can conquer their fear will survive.
    • Mad Max Fury Road: From filmmaker George Miller, originator of the post-apocalyptic genre and mastermind behind the legendary Mad Max trilogy, comes this return to the world of the Road Warrior, Max Rockatansky. Haunted by his turbulent past, Mad Max (Tom Hardy -- The Dark Knight Rises) believes the best way to survive is to wander alone. Nevertheless, he becomes swept up with a band of survivors fleeing across the Wasteland in a war rig driven by an elite Imperator, Furiosa (Oscar ® winner Charlize Theron-- Prometheus). They are escaping a Citadel tyrannized by the Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne), from whom something irreplaceable has been taken. Enraged, the Warlord marshals all his gangs and ruthlessly pursues the rebels in the high-octane Road War that follows.

I must not fear.
Paying retail is the deal-killer.
Paying retail is the little-death that loses money.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only a Slickdeal will remain.
I wouldn't call Javier Bardem a D-list actor.
Bait-and-switch-a-zon, private browser, it's $4.99. I do a purchase and after login, the cart price goes to $14.99.

Edit: I rolled the dice and proceeded, it charged me just $4.99 and still used my no rush credits.

Now it's just glitch-a-zon.

It shows 4.99 at first. Then 14.99. But on checkout only changed 4.99 (all no rush credits for me.)

Dune 4K Blu-ray was $8 back in December, the 4K digital expires Mar 31 2024. If you could find the 4K Blu-ray for a good price before the end of next month, that might be a better option.

Mad Max 4K trilogy was $37 two months ago, but the 4K digital code expired shortly after on Dec 31 2023. Hopefully people remember to redeem the codes.

Whenever you're dealing with Warner Bros physical media, you need to factor in the digital if it's still valid. Warner expires the digital code. Any Warner 4K Blu-ray with working digital code for under $10 is a must buy considering the 4K digital is worth at least $5.

If you have a decent setup, Dune is a must-have on UHD disc imo.
One of the few that has a reference transfer in both PQ & AQ.

On amazon's main page it shows buy 4.99, then 14.99 striked thru on amazon video page but also says its the median price for last 90 days.
Once you get to the last purchase confirm window it does show 4.99 again and I can confirm it only charges it too, all from no rush credits. Nice deal thanks.

Dune is probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Every actor is D-list and the plot/atmosphere is pretentious. Movies are made to be entertaining. You have a serious problem when that's not being accomplished.

Hollywood also needs to realize Timothee Chalamet ain't it. He's the new Channing Tatum and Miles Teller. He can't act. He ruins every movie he's in. I don't get it. Stop casting this guy. Seriously.
It's not that bad. I agree Timothee Chalamet is bad. Hopefully we won't see him in main roles after the Dune movies are completed. I also think Tom Holland is very bad, the worst Spider-Man of all.

His career has sadly fallen quite a bit. He's taking bit roles in Disney movies. Yes, he did play the king in Little Mermaid, but that was a trash role anyone could have played. He also plays the same character in every movie with the monotone voice and super-serious face. I thought he was awful in Skyfall. He plays a one-dimensional former agent of MI6 who is clearly a Spanish national who probably wouldn't be allowed to work there. Ridiculous.

I think it's telling Marvel wouldn't even cast him as a villain in their films. As anything to boot.
