The problem with all these overnight oats or ready made fancy oat stuff like this is that it's just too easy and way cheaper to make at home. It takes 0 skill to make overnight oats. It doesn't even take that long either.

I've tried these and find them very unappetizing.

So you leave on the stove overnight? Doesn't it require something (like refrigeration) so it doesn't grow bacteria or mold or whatever?
Yeah I figure they mean to put it into the fridge. Steel cut oats are so thick they probably don't absorb room temperature water well enough to be fully soft (versus instant or old fashioned oats). Hence the boiling water. But still I'd put that in the fridge...

Got them at costco but I do not recommend, they taste sour like they fermented, just make your own, or freshly made is even better.
I agree with you, but seems like we're in the minority here. I bought a Costco pack. Just tasted like 3 day old leftover oats from the fridge. I thought the taste and texture of Mush was offputting. It was like something I'd eat if I only had 10 seconds to grab something and force it down. I ended up giving them away to the neighbors.

What terrible branding. Seriously. It's not as clever as the smug branding department believes it to be.

Dude, it's just oats & water & salt. What would be going bad overnight? I've eaten this for 10+ years now, it is fine.

Wonder how much glyphosate remains in this?
Not enough to do anything most likely. As with most things, just don't drink it or rub it in your eyes. I highly doubt they get their oats from anywhere special.

Half the batches I've bought over the past few months have been bad. Like they taste like cleaning chemicals or vinegar. I contacted the company, and they claim its a shelf life thing, but if these are that sensitive to shelf life > 1 week, then they should fix their supply chain. Just buyer beware that they very easily go bad.

Yep, see my other comment. They do go bad very easily. They're not shelf-stable.

Not the most appetizing of product names, but free is free and they carry it at my local grocery store.

Trust me, I've tried several flavors and the name is completely appropriate vomit

I used to buy a lot of these. They seem to have quality control issues in my opinion. some batches are nearly inedible and have a weird consistency (than mush). Then you also get batches that taste incredible.

I took advantage of this offer a few weeks ago.
Was happy to try it for free but something about the texture of these was blah to me.
I prefer to just make my own oatmeal.

This stuff tastes pretty good for cold oatmeal. I can't replicate it at home, has a different texture. Its too expensive to buy regularly for oatmeal though.
