I think I mostly chose it for the subscription potential along with backwards compatibility. Now that Ive had time to think about it more it really doesn't matter since I got the series x for half off anyways. I also wanted a series x to be able to use my older library from previous systems with dev mode. Several games collecting dust in my closet because the consoles eventually croaked but xbox can technically replace them, something ps can't do. Also another thing to consider about the whole buyer's remose is that there's going to be a PS5 Pro this year anyways so having something to hold out until that point is also fine.

Yeah don't worry about the $10K (8K TV and sound system) you will have to spend to actually take full advantage of the PS5 Pros features.

Do you really believe a ps5 pro will be able to run games in full 8k resolution? Lol. Come on. The current PS5 is marketed as an 8k console and it can barley run 4k at 60 fps on most titles. PS5 pro at a minimum hopefully should run 60-120fps at 4k. Nothing this generation is touching 8k.
