The 2TB 980 pro is infamous for failing... Like mine did.
Mainly a firmware issue, where before you install it, put it in a dock or install it as a secondary drive and use Samsung Magaician to update the firmware, though my 870 from a year ago failed holding the OS

I'm aware. Now that it's dead and I had to look it up. Not really any way I could have known that beforehand.

It was $75 last year. Yet $115 is considered "good price" now, This kind of price manipulation from SSD manufacturers is appalling…
and just you wait one of those factories mysteriously get flooded, or burst in flames, and they suddenly double the price.
just like what those companies use to do every other year . what has been keeping Tailand, Malaysia, and Korean factories safe for the last few years seem to be the availability of Chinese nands, but since those are now largely make "unavailable" in the U.S. due to reasons, i expect the natural disaster to once again prevail due to "global warming"

Exactly. Man, I am so glad I bought a few SSDs during that time. One for my PC, one for my PS5, and one for my friend's PC. I cancelled my order for my PS5 like 4 times because a new lower price kept popping up.
I was thinking the p3 was a gen 3 drive and the p5 was the gen 4?

Ironic that when the price increased it went back in stock lickity split.
But back on subject. This is a also crappier than the T500 2Tb crucial SSD that was $108 about a month ago on Amazon.
