Not sure where you're getting your info from. Majority of gaming monitors sold today are VA panels. Quality VA panels produce much deeper colors and vibrancy which you won't see in IPS. Yes some ghosting is expected but only an issue for hard-core FPS shooters.

This is a highly personal choice. Since it's Microcenter, I recommend going into the store and compare for yourself. If you're ok with what VA shows compared directly with an IPS version of monitor, then this is a great deal.

VA panel. Likely sucks for gaming.

I got excited when I saw the specs and price. Your post reminded me of how it looked in person at Microcenter. I'm sorry but it just doesn't look good enough for me. Thanks.

I went to microcenter just to check one of these out. Unfortunately compared to the 34" ultrawide I currently use the panel seemed to be noticeably smaller height-wise. So I personally would only consider a 49" as an upgrade.

Got this on a previous deal. The monitor is not very tall. Great if you want 3-4 windows across, but I've realized I prefer taller monitors for development and reading documents. Also I prefer 4k resolution and this is more like 2k. USB-C for power and video is nice though

Been this price for weeks now. I used their site to pricematch with Bestbuy in late January.

Unfortunately, my work laptop can't push the max resolution of this monitor, so it was a waste and return for me Frown

It's probably a typo of display port. Requires at least HDMI 2.0 to achieve 5120x1440 pixels and 2.1 factoring in the frame rate.

Neither did I until it didn't work 😂 I have a mid level gaming laptop with dedicated nvidia card, but I confirmed via MSI that it couldn't push the full resolution.

Yup. I had a VA panel for years before switching to IPS (and now OLED) and it was a great monitor. If I remember correctly, it was kind of like a combination of a TN/IPS panel, or maybe it sat somewhere right in the middle. Can't remember.
