Another way to think of it:

This is a less expensive cloud storage option that also includes MS Office software.
If your O365 subscription is with Amazon, I believe you have to wait until it expires before being able to renew/redeem a key on office.com.
Microsoft Office is arguably the most mature, polished personal productivity suite on planet Earth, but everyone is entitled to their opinion. However, what is not opinion is that hundreds of millions of people use the suite (at work, school) and have become proficient with it and, presumably, would prefer to use it (at home). And, if you value the Cloud storage at <$5/month, then Office is basically a free bonus.

Any chance AMZN will offer the same or similar? How does purhcasing it from NewEgg work if my current sub is through AMZN and is not due to expire until later this year?

OK I bought it from NewEgg. My current AMZN sub doenst end until Nov. I went into AMZN and set it not to renew through AMZN at expiration. However, I cant add the new key purchased from AMZN anywere. When I hit up the Office 365 management site and click manage, it just takes me to AMZN. Do I jsut have to wait until my current sub from AMZN ends?

Tried doing the extension through MSFT and got message to wait until current sub ends and something about "blocked syndicated"? Any solution other than just to wait?

I ordered this. I'm set to not renew through Microsoft, but Newegg said they would act as an agent of Microsoft and renew on my behalf for 89.99$. How do I stop this from happening? Is there a separate auto-renew in need to cancel?

Looks like Newegg will work the same way as Amazon.

"Beginning from the date you activate your subscription, Newegg (acting as an agent of Microsoft Corporation) will automatically charge your payment card $89.99 (plus applicable taxes) every 12 months to continue your subscription. Microsoft Corporation will notify you prior to each renewal, as well as before any price changes"

This is not a good direction for MS365 subscriptions. I was able to get a discount on 12 months ($69.99) direct by going through my work benefits. It says it will auto renew at that same rate. I'm not sure if I leave my current employer whether the discount will stick or not.

The wording is quite odd. After the paragraphs you quoted, it continues:

This makes it different than the O365 subscriptions from Amazon, where you can only manage on Amazon and not Microsoft.

On my Microsoft account there are also the options to turn on/off auto-renewal and redeem another key.

1. Did you buy this?
2. If so, was it a key or did it auto add to your Microsoft account?

Trying to determine if Newegg is going the Amazon route

Can I get this but hold off on activation for a few months? Does it have a key so I can keep and redeem later? Will it expire?

IIRC it used be whatever left on your personal subscription gets converted to family. But it seems now it's converted at 85%: https://support.microsoft.com/en-...refeatures

It's a key delivered by email. Updated my post to reflect that.
