The 90's... cd players were still obscure in the 80's
A lot of people artificially make things older than they are. My '01 car has a tape deck and changer. Our 2015 definitely has a CD player. And every time I use it, I'm reminded how much better the sound quality is than satellite radio…and how we don't have to f*ck around with whose phone is paired, who has the music downloaded, how our data plan is looking…it's just easy. And it actually encourages you to listen to an album. So many great tracks that people skip over.
And if you don't want the discs, just rip them and do whatever you want. Instant backup hard copy!

My 2012 had a cd player, my 2020 did not. I really wish it did though, I love CDs.

*edit: $5 bucks seems kinda high for this IMHO. Not slick at all.
