I was looking into buying some Maui Jim sunglasses (non prescription), and I nearly paid 260 on Amazon for the Local Kine model (mauigreen)

well, I compared that to the Maui Jim website, and they had the same exact ones for 280.

then I found this link, which took the Maui Jim price down to 195 pre-tax and shipping (shipping was 10)

heck of a deal, so I snagged a pair (first pair of non cheap Amazon glasses)

you do have to be able to verify thru ID.Me

hope others find this useful!

P.S the site overall says free shipping but doesn't apply to this program as noted in the faq on their page.

Thanks. Don't need a new pair at this time but commenting to say that these are the best glasses I've ever worn out of all my nice pairs. And they haven't sold out to luxxotica…..yet.

Or you can just get last years models for $100 bucks at Costco. I bought everyone in my family a pair and have 3 pairs myself. Hands down the best sunglasses. I always make sure to get the STG models which are indicated on the inside of each frame which I believe stands for super thin glass.

Pretty sure they are owned by Luxotica. I bought a pair a few years ago using id.me and it was shipped from Luxotica. Still a great deal with id.me but just giving info.
I stopped into sunglasses hut (which all brands are owned by luxxotica) and they told me the only brand they carried that wasn't was Jim's. Of course the sales lady could have been wrong. It would be a disappointment to see yet another great company join that monopoly.

I have been to a few Costco's in multiple states and they have all had them (in the optical department) - some of them will different stock than others. If you go onto the Costco website and search for Maui Jim, they will also have them there but you will need to sign in to see prices.

For my Costco, the inventory varies. Guessing it's more seasonal and they should be getting them in because it's approaching Spring in the northern hemisphere?

But I have seen MJ at Costco for around $100-150. I actually bought a pair there 15 years ago but I have seen them recently. Sometimes they'll be in the optometry area, or on a display table with a salesperson there.

What makes them "hands down the best?"

I didn't know there were Costco's in the southern hemisphere.

Not OP, but for me, I find they're the only sunglasses that don't seem to bother me/give me headaches (I get them REALLY easily with sunglasses, hats, etc.). I've also tried Oakleys, Rayban, Quiksilver, and even Prada (found on clearance at a Nordstrom's, I think? Been a while) and even a friend's pair of Oliver Peoples that he loved. And the occasional off brand, too. Every single other one besides Maui Jim has given me headaches within about 15 minutes of wearing.

This is true for me as well. Most others give me headaches

I have owned Oakley's, ray bans, Serengeti and multiple other polarized glasses and none of them come close to the clarity of Maui Jim's. Both the contrast and colors just pop. I definitely can't afford them new, but getting them for 100 bucks makes it a no brainer. Just my opinion but you can always check them out at Costco and compare since all their non prescription glasses are in the same spot.

Came here to agree on Costco. Available online and in-store. Order a few of them and return the ones you don't like at the store. Can't miss.
