Thanks. I have an azio brown that I find pretty loud. Surprised there is something louder.
Correction: red is actually suppose to be quieter than a brown switch: might just have to get the red to compare and verify.

Way around. Red seems softer to me
Brown is "tactile", meaning that there's a 'bump' when pressing down, that causes the feel to be different.
Both have their advantages and disadvantages, and as for which one is louder, that depends on your typing style.
I wouldn't say that the reds are vary similar to your standard membrane Or scissor Or old-school mechanical keyboard. Red (generally meaning "linear" are *smooth*. Much smoother than what most people are used to in any keyboard type.
