I bought all of them except Arise since I already have that for PS5.

Each of them kind of starts slow, but they all have great characters and stories. My wife makes fun of me for how Anime they are and how cheesy the stories are, but I think they are great JRPG comfort food.
edit: it does work.
Also are they are turn based RPGs?
Playing on a steam deck if that matters.

Symphonia was my first tales game, it was different and neat from standard jrpgs, but the combat was awkward with co-op with my brother, camera is centered on player 1, Abyss improved it. Start with that or Berseria? Tales series' battles are in real time, even the 2d ones.
