As an iOS user this took me like 2 days to set up and get used to but I LOVE IT. The tablet performance is smooth, the speaker quality is good, and I love that I can use BT accessories with it. Highly recommend trying it. The tablet case is worth getting too, super cool form factor. If you don't get the case, it's fun to stick the tablet on my fridge (the back is magnetic)

This tablet seems like a pretty questionable purchase at this price compared to waiting for a deal on a Galaxy Tab

Still too expensive. I assume this is supposed to replace the Google hubs (and max, obviously). And at this price point, it's in a whole other category with iPads and the like.

I love my Google hubs but it's obvious Google has abandoned these things. Every update makes it slower and Google assistant is forever broken.

Buy a Nokia T20 tablet instead.. it's 1/3 the price at $150 and even comes with FM Radio built in!

yes definitely buy this now and don't regret it when google unceremoniously announced they're discontinuing all future support for the tablet, just like they've done about 4 times before.

$250 is the right answer. Google needs to rebuild it's trust with the public.

I don't trust Google with their devices , no tradeins and the quality of build is just not there. Only reason to get it is for earliest software update. Amazon has tradeins that let's you get their later echo devices for cheaper for eg. Samsung has much better build quality and offers tradeins.

The tablet you're referencing indeed costs 1/3 the price. But it has 64GB (1/4) the built in storage. And its CPU (the Unisoc T610) is roughly 1/3 as powerful as the Tensor G2. (Source: https://www.notebookcheck.com/T61...52.0.html)

Plus, the Nokia lacks any sort of speaker dock, which I think is a large part of the value proposal here.

No doubt, this Google tablet is not the cheapest. There are plenty of bargain tablets out there. But I think they fulfill different needs.

IMHO, for most people there's probably a better solution somewhere in the middle -- like an open-box older generation Galaxy Tab. A couple of years ago for Christmas, I bought my little sister an open-box Tab S6 direct from Amazon for like $199. Maybe, if you look, you can now find an S7 in that range? But again, that's just my take.
