Deal Details
Woot [woot.com] has Nintendo Switch OLED (Neon Blue & Red, New Open Box) on sale for $265.99. Shipping is free w/ Amazon Prime, otherwise shipping is $6. - NLA

Woot [woot.com] also has Nintendo Switch OLED Japanese Model (Neon Blue & Red or White, New Open Box) on sale for $265.99. Shipping is free w/ Amazon Prime, otherwise shipping is $6.

Note (taken from product page): The units in this sale are being sold as open box condition. That means that they have been opened due to being a photo sample, a tested good customer return or having damaged packaging. Some non-essential items may be missing from the box. The unit may not be shipped in retail packaging. That is the reason for the reduced sale price and the reduced warranty. Units will arrive with packaging and documentation primarily in Japanese. However, units will function perfectly in the U.S., once preferred region and language have been selected during set up. (In a nutshell, Nintendo is NOT region locked).

Should be no difference. Just the packaging and documentation will be in Japanese, but once you begin setting up the switch you can change the language to English and use NA region games on it I believe.

It would have been new if the box wasn't just opened

Hi! It's under the note in OP, but essentially it might just be a return or damaged packaging in most cases, but should look like and function like new.

I ordered Japanese version in December. You really wouldn't even know the difference once you select English as the language.

$266 is too much for an open-box japanese model
