You know... you can recharge the battery. You don't have to throw the whole thing away after the first 5 minutes.

I got the fpv after using a mini for the longest time. It was the open box Best Buy deal. Absolutely train in the included simulator (phone attached to the goggles via usb) before you use the sport mode. Sport basically gives you full access to the capabilities of a FPV versus the mild/ heavily stabilized maneuverability of the mini. This thing burns through battery, expect about 5min in sport mode, but I have easily gone 70mph with this thing. It's weird passing cars alongside a country road.

If it's your first time, then guaranteed you will crash it. That's why it's better to buy brand new and buy the DJI Care so you get 2x free replacements per year.

According to B&H reviews, apparently Action 3 had some really bad focus issues that were fixed on newer versions / through some software updates. So perhaps all of these Open box ones are the older ones with the problem?

how is the return policy, restocking fees?

their website says the following items may not be returned

Drones - All defects can be handled under the manufacturer's warranty. For DJI brand drones, call DJI at 818-235-0789 and obtain a case number for the defect prior to requesting an RMA. Please note only Dead on Arrival units out of the box will be returnable to us (with a valid case number). DJI will NOT authorize any returns to us if there are any signs of use like dirt, grass stains, nicks or any signs of use. For these situations, the Return Authorization would need to be handled directly between the customer & DJI

Just remember that if you crash it, you have to locate the broken drone in return it in order to be covered. So, if it gets stuck in a tree or in the water or off the mountain, you are SOL.

Perfect, was going to ask this question. Need something to replace an old JVC action cam that died on a snorkeling trip a couple of years ago. Trying to use a phone in a case underwater is not the same. Are there hard buttons to stop and start recording underwater, and does the screen turn off sensitivity when underwater to prevent accidental action?

I'm not sure, have not used the Action 4 underwater yet myself. But I know that the screen can 'lock' like a phone, slide to unlock.
I went snorkeling in Bermuda with the Action 1 and did not have a problem.

All of the reviews absolutely recommend the Pocket 3 when it costs a little bit more, whereas this is a significant savings of $400+ compared to the Pocket 3's content creator kit. My action 3 combo just came in. Definitely an open box and not a refurb. Box a bit dirty, teared, but resealed with a seal sticker. Camera a little dusty but accessories look untouched
