People in the comments are going to reply like theyre enlisted soldiers in a brand war. But if you look at TV reviewers on YouTube or places like Ratings, the difference between these two high-end models won't be noticable unless you put the TVs side by side

Samsung colors are a little more vivid and is slightly brighter, LG is a little more color accurate and has been producing OLEDs for longer, which you could interpret as more reliable.

Either one should be awesome. If one is significantly cheaper, than go for that one, because you'll probably notice the few hundred dollars saved more than the picture quality difference

Can we stick to deal talk and take this LG vs. Samsung battle to Deal Discussion please.

The C4s and G4s are available for pre-order now. Retailers will know soon that earlier adopters are going to start buying those. Hopefully more Retailers will push to clearance these out. Come on Costco, Let's go

Since there's a lot of S90 vs C3 talk.

I have the 77 S90 and a 65 C1 / 48 C2.

Whenever the S90 dies, I'll be buying the C series to replace it. Why? Because of jitter / content smoothing.

The Samsung blows at content smoothing and that sucks. I'd rather have a slightly lower brightness, but a smooth picture.

Those are just my needs though, so take them as you will.

You can haggle with the Samsung reps. I was able to haggle with them and with CB from other site as well as haggle, got the s90c 77 inch for 1800 after everything said and done. The s90c is going to be higher brightness overall (2000 vs 1000 nit) compared to the LG C series because of the fact that the Samsung is a QD OLED gen 2 panel
What was final Samsung price as I got 10% off epp price of 2250 to get 2042 + 2 yr Samsung care +. Total with tax was 2150

Yes. LG has been making OLED much longer than the others, and have more effective burn in mitigation - this was demonstrated in the recent RTNGS OLED burn in testing.

Based on that, I got the LG B2 for gaming and movies over a year ago, and very happy with it.

Absolutely. I have been following this for a while and everything said both are same with brightness and color being the difference. May be reliability of lg is better than Samsung. But give this goes in living room with tons of windows and reflection. I figured Samsung is better. But if I get 1800 for Samsung I would be happier.

Sure bud 👍 ...just not according to Rtings.com the most referenced tv review site....or my own eyes. I have S90C and LG C3. Samsung has better picture. Each guest I've had over has specifically commented on the Samsung and said nothing about the C3. C3 should be $100-$200 less than the S90C at all times.
Agree with this 100%. I bought both and put them side by side after calibration. Returned the c3 immediately.

Rtings.com for everyone's reference LG C3 vs Samsung S90C:

HDR Native Gradient 9.3 to 7.8 Winner Samsung

Viewing Angle 10 to 9.3 Winner Samsung

HDR Brightness 8.5 to 8.1 Winner Samsung

Color Volume 9.1 to 7.9 Winner Samsung

Gray Uniformity 9.0 to 8.5 Winner Samsung

Pre Calibration (Be honest, most ppl aren't getting their TV professionally calibrated) 9.1 to 8.9 Winner Samsung

Now what did the C3 even win at?

Low quality content smoothing and SDR Brightness 🤣

Enjoy your DVDs I guess... 👍

Sure bud. You have two TV's side-by-side playing the exact same material at the exact same time and this random assortment of people all say that the Samsung is better? That's pretty amazing. Do they also have torch mode on their own TV's at home? Just making sure they're TRUE experts in your focus group.

I'm hoping we see 83" for closer to 2K soon. It's getting close with some deals like the recent Samsung one for $2500. Still holding Smilie

Ah, that must be the issue I didn't have "TRUE experts" just a bunch of normal people with eyes looking at two tvs and choosing the better one...I guess Rtings.com needs a new staff of "TRUE experts" to re-take their measurements as well, got it.

Final Samsung price after tax was 1895. But I did not get 2 year Samsung warranty.

What I did was I initially ordered the tv and then it was taking a while to shop so I argued with chat, they gave me an extra coupon code for discount on a future order. I cancelled the tv and then reordered and added the coupon. Was totally worth the extra wait, especially when you factor in CC rewards with chase as well as the extra chase warranty as well as 5% CB.
