Unfortunately in this set of mbs, there seems to be no golden child. Reviews are hit and miss on all the boards and you're left trying to decipher which one to get. MSI typically is one of the more reliable brands though for sure and some of the reviews seem like they 'may' be just due to user errors or other non related issues.
Amazon has it, $10 more but I'm concerned it's a "Frequently returned item"...
Been seeing this message excessively lately. Even saw it on a quality set of banana plugs I ordered for a speaker setup.
As for this MOBO, I own two of this exact model w/DDR5, and one of it's predecessor w/DDR4 (the Z690). They are all absolutely fantastic and problem-free. That's wayyyy more than I can say for some of the Gigabyte and Asus MOBOs I've owned. I can't think of anything specific worthy of mention about these, which is a really good thing because I also have nothing negative that comes to mind. Plus I absolutely love the total blackout appearance. It matches almost anything and looks exceptional in black and white themed builds, or anything in-between. I'm a horrible photographer, but here's my Z690 build:
Edit: I forgot about the Z690 needing to be RMA'd. It was a fluke thing, but MSI was exceptional in the RMA process and made it right. Quickly at that. They actually answer phone calls and have agents here in the U.S.
Top notch experience. Again, more than I can say for Gigabyte and Asus.
So this is a good board at a good price. But I would hold off on any build until the release of the new AMD chips in Q2. There's more than just rumor that those chips will be killer.
I have this in my main build. I've had no issues with the board itself and build quality is good imho. Biggest issue I've had, is it's difficult to find(still looking/waiting) for ddr5 ram dual channel configuration over 6000mhz with decent cas, on the qvl list. Don't expect the 7200mhz claim to be legit. I'm using 5600 atm np, but gl finding qvl approved much over that . Not really a huge game changer in the grand scheme of things, but when you are building a high end system, every few % on fps really matters and this has been a disappointment.
Another nitpick(huge annoyance actually), everytime there is a bios update, it wipes my profiles, ie, fan curves and undervolt settings 😡 this is probably an issue not specific to just this board, but fyi.
Oh, and ditch the m.2 included heat sinks and use your own. They are worthless.
I had the x570, had to return it bc i was getting an error and my pc wouldn't boot up. I troubleshooted for days and basically it was the mobo that was the issue. Got the x570s and had no problems. I guess the quality is just hit or miss, idk.

I believe the issue with this and the ddr4 version of the board is the screw posts for the m.2 drives either get loose or come off. I don't have this board personally so I don't know if it's a defect or you have to do something special to tighten down the posts but that's what I recall seeing when I researched this board in the past.

Why would you spend more and take Amazon risk? This is manufacturer direct for less
