Not really. I got mine for 179 last year from Lowes.

Great saw and it is a good buy at full price given the competition in that price range, but not a holy crap deal by any means.

Not at all. Rear rails suck as it has to sit an extra 12" off the wall eating up a ton of shop space if you build out a miter saw station.

I got a Metabo with forward rails for $199 not too long ago. Much better.

This is a great miter saw. It's rated as one of the best in the 12 inch bevel world. Don't listen to the naysayers. If you are a DIYer, you can't beat this price. There are plenty of you tube videos that review this saw and compare it against high end saws like dewalt.

I picked one up right when I saw this post. Walmart offers 90 day returns vs the Amazon 30 day window.

I believe you have to register the saw within 30 days to extend the warranty from 1 year to 3 years, at least that's the manufacturer's site says.

This is 10" not 12" is that a typo or is the 12" the better one

Great saw for a DIYer. Had it for almost 3 years. Paid full price and was still happy with the deal I got; at this price its a no brainer.

I'm trying to save every dollar for an upcoming movie and all the other expenses coming up: is there anything comparable or maybe even better out there than this? Use would be for cutting trim and perhaps 2*4 or 2*6s.

My local Menards appears to have it on sale for $219 and then an additional 11% off on top of that (~$195 pre-tax). Might be worth looking into if you are near a Menards.

I'm seeing a 20% coupon for the 12" version, bringing the price down to ~$206 before tax. Any reason not to get the 12" if space isn't an issue?

Just going by the picture, looks like not a slider, and laser cut line instead of shadow. Not an expert but I think shadow is considered higher end due to accuracy.
