Which has the best "price to product" ratio? I'm having a hard time believing it's the beef sticks
next Ounce per $ is
Jack Link's Premium Cuts Beef Steak, Original, Great Protein Snack with 23g of Protein and 2g of Carbs per Serving, Made with Premium Beef, 2 Ounce (Pack of 12)

I made my own beef jerky for the first time last week. Way easier than I thought it would be, just used my ninja air fryer. Tasted worlds better than jack links, which is firmly C or D tier jerky. Give it a try!

You would be very hard pressed to make your own jerky for this price. You might get some beef round about to expire, on sale for $3/lb or so. Turn it into jerky, and it loses 3/4 of it's weight, so about $3/4oz, or 75¢/oz an ounce, not including your marinade ingredients. That vs $13.44/18oz, also about 75¢, already marinated, prepped, and packaged.

Yeah but he says it tastes better when he jerks it himself

My guess is it was ground beef used in a dehydrator. I have had some solid beef sticks/jerky from them as well, but haven't tried making it myself yet. I still buy prepackaged to keep at work since it is vacuum sealed and shelf stable with a longer shelf life.

I've made jerky before. It's nice that you can pick your own marinade and dry it the amount you want. I like mine a little underdone/wet/tender. But, if you can get packaged for under $1/oz, you aren't saving money doing it yourself. Shelf life is also better with the packaged stuff - I freeze mine in vacuum sealed bags.

I went with the beef sticks - lower in sugar than the jerky. With 15%s&s, $15.71 for 12 sticks or 24oz.
