Also, there's some error in the way they coded it in that when leaders ask for money, and you give it, they are insulted and your relationship gets worse. It's backwards. So you are in a pickle trying to get relationships where you want them.

Back in the days when I had a slower computer, I used to limit the number of AI players in the game and play on smaller maps. I found that that greatly sped up the time between turns. When I played on phone/tablet, I usually do the same thing, 4-6 players, small maps, and it seems to work fine.
