First off this seems to be an online only game.

Second reviews give new meaning to the word "mixed".

Much of Black Desert Online is a convoluted mess, but few games let you create a virtual life this absorbing. What is the difference between "complex" and "disorganized"? Black Desert Online purports to be complicated--and often, it is--but its abysmal interface and poor introductions to key systems leave you floundering in the early hours, and sometimes in the later ones, too.

got the base game when it was free awhile back. probably the best combat system of any MMO out there. New Korean mythology expansion is worth playing through. Very few games cover that setting. Also a huge variety of content outside of combat as well.

Does have its issues as well though like a toxic community but you can avoid most of that by turning off the chat. Story is pretty abysmal too. Elementary school level writing.

This game rewards you when you stay AFK logged in doing stuff. That said I have nearly 10,000 hours in mostly AFK fishing.

Bought a founders pack and spent the first two yrs playing this game. It's the best looking and best combat, character customization of any MMO. You literally need an encyclopedia to know how every mechanic in game would work. Had tons of fun in early game world pvp sieges and getting a pegasus mount.That being said I wouldn't recommend this unless you plan on playing casually and don't care for pvp. The endgame grind for best gear is where p2w aspects really show. Worth it just for character creator though.

I got it free a while back. The game is pretty overwhelming with a billion things going on early on. I put probably 20 hours into it before giving up.

I bought whatever special edition pack it offered at launch. Didn't stick to it that long and here it is at $1. Tsk

Try Vindictus MMO. Better combat system than BDO which was copied from dragon dogma.
