I purchased a plan off Tello to get a phone number (didn't want to use my existing GVoice #) for about $7 after tax, ordered the phone off the BB website, picked it up this morning, and called to cancel service with AT&T. Logging into my AT&T account shows cancelled. easy peasy. thanks OP!

Yesterday, I ordered for pickup at store by porting my GV number. I got email from GV stating, there is a port out request and if I would like to continue. I did nothing about it.
I also got emails from ATT to verify email, setup a passcode and also to setup my account with them. Followed prompts and finished all those.
Went to the store and the reps at bestbuy gave me the phone along with sim card after scanning IMEI of phone, sim card id etc.
I didn't insert the sim in phone.
I came home and tried to connect with ATT for cancellation. ATT chat and phone lines were closed as it's past 9 pm.
Tried today morning and chat is closed as it's Sunday. Called their CC line and the person asked about whats causing me to cancel service. I said something and he said the cancellation will be effective Tuesday March 5. But it will past 3 days of my activation and I may get charged for activation fee.
So I asked if he can cancel effective immediately. He didn't respond but continued to cancel and said it's cancelled effective immediately.
My account is shown as cancelled in the att website. So I hope all will be fine, have to wait until monthly bill is created to be sure.
