The G&L Online Store has G&L Tribute Doheny Electric Guitar (B-Stock) on sale at significant discount. Shipping is free.
These were listed a few days ago. I believe there were more but they tend to go quick. G&L updates their B-Stock/Clearance guitars regularly so there may be more.
This seems like a good deal , it's squier money for a superior guitar, but be careful and check the neck pockets, sometimes these bstock come misaligned or either chips/gaps in them.
My first reaction on that doheny is that I would be more interested if it had a jazzmaster style bridge. Anybody have experience with this one? Any reason why this bridge would be better than a jazzmaster bridge?

G&L started making the Doheny in 2017, it was an experiment in offsets, being such a small company they decided not to develop a new Jazzmaster style bridge, and just use their well tried dual fulcrum 2 point bridges on them. They are great, different than jazzmaster though but still great. I own 5 g&l guitars, 4 have the fulcrum and 1 has a hard tail. Mine are American made but the tributes all have American hardware (bridges and pickups). If you can, give it a try.

The 2pt trem is just a more reliable and simple design than the JM trem is. JM trems have more moving parts and they're finicky to setup correctly.
Jazzmaster purists will agree that the Doheny isn't a JM so much as it is a JM-shaped guitar with simpler, more versatile controls and a 2pt trem bridge similar to a strat. It's not going to sound exactly like a JM but it is a more adaptable guitar. The bass tone knob is a pretty nice feature I feel more manufacturers should adopt e.g. G&L with their PTB circuit and Reverend with the bass contour knob.

To add to the other answer about the JM bridge being finicky, people recommend mastery bridges which go for like $200. I've never personally tried them but I can confirm that the stock jazzmaster bridge is a little annoying.

Here's a pretty good comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVgwTjc
