These are phenomenal. Not sure if $300 for a refurb is good but these are tip top. Still remember the Costco beam deal for $180 new. One of the best SDs ever.

Yeah, I got one from those Costco deals. Remembered having to stay late night hunting for some deals on BF
Is this worth upgrading from gen 1?

That's the beam I'm still using. One thing about Sonos their products are built to last.
I'm pretty sure the Sonos Beam is a much better setup, as compared to a Roku Soundbar, subwoofer and speakers.
The Beam is $300 without the sub and speakers.
The Roku soundbar setup only can be used with Roku TV's (not sure about the Roku Streambar). Either the soundbar or streambar with sub and speakers is around the price of just the Sonos Beam.
Has anyone else gone through the above situation, and which did you select, and are you (still) happy with your decision?
Mine just got delivered. Looked brand new. Replaces an old Yamaha yas 107 I've had in my bedroom for a few years now. Very happy with it. I'd never pay 500 new when you can get an arc refurbished for 40 bucks more.

If a soundbar that retails for like $350/400 was $180 and you consider that one of the best SD ever, you must not be an OG SDer…before Goldman Sachs bought SD, the deals were insane.

Is it significantly better than the Yamaha? I have the Yamaha soundbar as well and just curious if there is a massive difference. Thanks!

I think so. Maybe it was a setting thing but the beams sounds much more clear and better balanced bass as well. I'm also bias as I have an arc in my living room and another beam in my basement. The assistant functionality especially with Spotify is the game changer for me.

Make sure to tweak some of the audio in the beam. By default you haven't raise the base a bit to get it to sound good (at least that I had to do a few years ago when I setup my beam from the $180 deal)
