New process of producing OLEDs without rare earth minerals.
"The new process, in simplest terms, involves replacing those rare minerals with not-so-rare -- and therefore more affordable --- minerals. Diving into the science, the process involves grinding manganese bromide with benzyltriphenylphosphonium bromide. That solution is then dissolved into single MnBz crystals, which are used to create a light-emitting device (the LED part of OLED)."
Wow, OLED prices have dropped like crazy. I bought a 77 inch SONY A80K for $1499 on a YMMV clearance deal from Costco and that was considered a steal at the time, which was only like 6 months ago lol. Had to drive all over town to find a Costco that had any in stock and had to rent a truck to get it home too. No regrets, just crazy to see how much prices have dropped on OLEDs. $Its great that more people will get to enjoy these awesome TVs as prices drop.

I paid more than this ($1900) for my 65" C1 a few years ago. Great deal.
That's what has stopped my from purchasing a 77" OLED just a few years ago. They were on sale for $4,900
Now I have my eye on the 83". There was a sale for one at $2,400 !!
