Then you know Pinarello is a well regarded maker!
If that's the case maybe showing people example(s) where one can spend a lot less for less weight would be helpful?
Don't know about anyone else but boat anchor paints a pretty awful picture!
I love bike deal discussions. I don't know anything about bikes so I end up getting a lot of previously unknown information. Also, next to oil threads (and a recent thread about SS flasks which turned way more contentious than than it should have) these threads produce some of the most interesting discussions.

3k+ road bike promoted mercilessly on "slickdeals" website as a slick deal! The Gods must be crazy!
Bike is a mix. Good sounding, Italian brand name (but probably made mostly in Taiwan), Advanced features that have little to do with speed, like electronic shifting and disc brakes, surprisingly heavy for 3k+ CF bike.
The show stopper is the wheelset, cheap (~300), very cheap for 3k+ bike. I would rather have no disc brakes and mechanical shifting and top notch wheelset. For that reason, definitely PASS.
I always get a kick when this discussion comes up!
Can't tell how many times I've run into people making/follow this argument and the engine doesn't match!
If the engine isn't up to par, that slight weight difference isn't really gonna do much imo.
You're putting the cart before the horse, not to mention at a much higher cost.
+1 to this. I'm not exactly a clyde, but no skinny guy either. I can lose a lot more in a month of eating healthier and riding more than I'll ever be able to take off my bikes.
That said, I cut almost 2 pounds off my Trek Domane by upgrading to a nice set of carbon wheels, and losing rotating mass made the bike feel a ton better to ride regardless whether it makes a difference in my actual speed. Shameful what Trek puts on a $4000 bike as standard these days.
Might be more helpful if you provide everyone with a real "slickdeal" for this price(not used)?
Sir, you might be confused, please read again. There is no mention of "used" in the post you refer to.
I think I WAS helpful providing my unbiased POV, arguments and even links. I am an avid rider and reasonably knowledgeable about bikes specs and prices, though my personal interest in bikes cuts off around 1.5k where I still see value and not social status symbol, or compensation for something unrelated to road cycling.
If you don't agree with my POV please provide your own argumentation, that would BE helpful.
You can't. Not with this quality of frame anyway. The majority of the weight that matters on a bike comes from parts that rotate, meaning: wheels, tires, cassettes, and rotors. Frame design matters, to an extent, because of power transfer. So let's assume two similarly designed racing bikes, with tires and rider power held constant, a 20lb bike with 1300g (2.8lbs) wheels is gonna climb faster than a 13lb bike with 2200g (4.8lbs) wheels. The lesson of the story is, find a bike you like, with a reasonable groupset, and then invest on wheels and tires. A Pinarello bike like this, paired with light weight Reserve or Zipp or ENVE wheels, for under $5000 total, is a very acceptable deal in the realm of expensive performance road bikes.
And if anyone cares that much about overall weight, I'd recommend a diet consisting of water and rabbit food.
That's what I was getting at. You can't. And that was coming from an alleged biking "expert".

I agree with you about rotational weight.

If my budget is 4K, I'd buy a Canyon Endurance bike. Here's link for all models:

Check Canyon Outlet, you will find really good deals for really good bikes there. Stock added everyday.

If I don't like the wheels, I'd buy a Superteam or ELITEWHEELS carbon wheelset from Amazon or directly from AliExpress for cheaper. Link:

I'm not an AVID rider but I have 5 bikes right now.
