The game was terrible, irrespective of certain fans' backlash. The game wouldn't get terrible or middling reviews if it wasn't a mediocre game.

SR reboot was free on Epic or Amazon a month or so back. It is clearly not trying to be a sequel to SR 3 (or 4) yet is constantly being judged as one. Everyone wants a reboot to be exactly the same and completely 'fresh' at the same time. Can't have both.

Basically SR 2022 is similar to GTA V (while not taking itself seriously) yet focused much more on gunplay. Another decent comparison would be Just Cause 3, minus the absurdness.

Agreed... The standard of "good games" is so abysmal nowadays and even still after getting it free on epic I'll likely never play it.

Nioh 2 was pretty amazing for combat. If you get stuck, you can summon a human, who will hard carry you with some mega spell nuke.

The bosses are pretty hard. I almost gave up a few times. The hardest levels are those where you can't summon help.

Level design is lackluster compared to Elden Ring. Plot is also nonsense. You're just there to look cool and stab monsters.
