The best air purifier deal is back at Costco.

I have these Winix units all over my house.

Better performing than everything you can find on Amazon and it comes with 2 years of filtration and easy to control on a Wi-Fi app.

AHAM rated for 360 sq ft, but will cover up to nearly 1,800 square feet with one air change per hour.

My favorite feature is the sensors and auto mode. It gives you the ability to set it up and forget about it. The fan speeds will change automatically, the air quality sensor will change colors and let you know it's working and the change filter indicator will let you know when it's time to change the true HEPA filter (I usually set a timer/reminder for my carbon filter change as I do with my furnace filter).

These units have helped my air during wildfires, Covid periods and will be purchasing more as it's cheaper than buying some other units filters.

Winix includes an extra filter, so you're already at the same price, assuming $80 for Shark + $20 for extra filter.

Shark states 1000sqft of air change per hour, Winix is 1800sqft
Shark is refurb with 90day warranty, Winix is new with (I want to say) 2year warranty, plus Costco satisfaction coverage.

Can't comment on reliability of Shark, but I've got 3 Winix in the house. One of them being maybe 6-7 years old at this point. We use it almost daily.

On the Winix, I did have to open it up and tighten the fan when it started rattling at about 5 year mark. But I think even if someone had to replace it at that point, it would be totally worth it the price paid.
I bought 2 of these units for myself, and my father bought 1 last year. No complaints, have it setup on a schedule and on auto it is nearly silent even when it's only 4ft away from my head. It will ramp-up/down automatically if AQ decreases, and comes with 2-years of filters. Plus, Costco warranty.

If you're looking for one, highly recommended.

For $20 less, how does it compare to this? (same 2-year total cost, assume a filter lasts a year and a shark replacement filter costs $20)

Mine developed a whine after about a year. It's still going after over 3 years but the whine is irratating. Filters are a little expensive so wait to buy then on sale for around. One hepa changed every year and 4 carbon overlays changing every 3 months.

You know, it wouldn't hurt them to put the dimensions on their product page.

14"D x 8"W x 21"H for those looking.

I have two of these in our house. One in our living room and another in our bedroom. The bedroom goes to 75% every single night to act as white noise, 9:30pm to 7:00am. The other is on auto mostly.
Ours have never experienced the whine that other people experience, thankfully. Ours has never lost wifi connection which is another thing I see people experience with these. The one in our bedroom is probably 4 or 5 years old at this point. It's also connected to Home Assistant, though I haven't explored much other than controlling it via home assistant versus the winix app. The filters are a little spendy, but we just catch them on sale and have a stack of them in the garage. When we vacuum out the outer mesh filter and see how much dust and dog hair it collects, we know it's worth the price of the filters.

Overall, very happy with these.

Over the years I've had about 6 of these. Two of them started having bearing squeaks after 2 years. Other than that I highly recommend them.

Anyone remember when the prices on older model electronics used to go down?
Has the price on this particular model changed at all in the last 3 years?

Winix C545
I paid $69.99 for a refurbished one 3 years ago on Woot. It is still operating just as well as the day I bought it & still basically silent during operation. I think I've changed the filter 3 or 4 times, operating it about 12 hours a day everyday.

The app for it was really buggy for a while, but it's not as bad now. It still disconnects maybe once every 2 months & refuses to reconnect for a few days, but that could be a problem with how far it is from the router.
