Awesome! Just purchased one. Used ones seem to go for $450+ if they're in good condition.
The folding tables can be had for $45 (non-DeWalt) to $55 (DeWalt) and a set of 3 blades will run you about $25 for non-DeWalt replacements.
The difference between the DW735 and the DW735X is that the X comes with the tables and an extra set of blades. The planer itself is still a DW735. The X just denotes the extra items.
Purchase them yourself for $70 to $80 and you essentially have a DW735X that is currently listed for $192 more than the DW735.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. I hope this helps!

Thank you! The DeWalt brand wasn't much more than the 3rd party offerings and some of the reviews talked about fitment issue.
I just purchased these as well.
Not sure if I can link to a YouTube video, but here's a video on how to use this exact model to yield similar results as a jointer. Should be applicable to any planer, but seems on topic.

My comment belongs in the "There are no time machines" bin, but...
I got the DW735X on June 10, 2021 for $499. That would be an amazing price now, but back in the heart of COVID pricing, it was a ridiculous deal. I had been trying to score one of the DW734 Home Depot clearance planers for $250, but that never materialized in my area, and then the deal on the DW735X came up.
That being said, this deal is a good price on a great planer, and definitely get the tables when you are able.
Before gong to bed last night I was contemplating buying a planer for my cabinet build so great timing. Can this be used as a jointer as well?
With a trick - yes. The trick is to use double side tape to attach flat surface to the bottom. OK for doing from time to time, and to much if you have to joint daily.
P.S. nobody asked, but helix blades is the best investment I did for this unit. IMHO

Don't know why it doesn't have more thumbs-up.
Thanks OP!
Amazon is also offering $25 off if you purchase $199 of select DeWalt tools. The side table and planer blades do qualify.

Be prepared for an ungodly amount of sawdust this thing produces.

If the link doesn't work, search for "planer 3x3" and look for the video by 3x3Custom - Tamar.
Hope this helps!
