For the uninformed. I work in IT in healthcare. The test are not going to stop you from getting COVID, they will let you know you have COVID. What you choose to do with this information is up to you and, let's face it, your employer. For us it means working from home for at least the day (for a non-positive result) or working from home for at least the week (for a positive result). We care about our coworkers and have the ability to protect them from getting sick. Which in turn protects them from spreading it to their families and patients.
We are lucky enough to have an employeer that cares about spreading disease and are lucky enough to have the ability to work from home. One of my coworkers is currently working from home because he is sick and I appreciate him for it.

I've been on SD for ages and I never get why people feel the need to argue about stuff like this. If you don't want the test, think it's stupid, whatever, don't sign up for it then. If you want it, great, get it.

tl;dr - chill out with the fighting

If you have a certain Kaiser plan, they give you home test for free. Its 4 boxes of 2pk max a month per person.

Why are these shipped during winter when they don't work right if exposed to cold temps?

Covid is still out there and patients are still dying no matter what you think.

I'll be ordering these. Work in a hospital and this is the only way to get tested. They don't care about us.

Can't even give em away. I wonder why?
Uh…they're quite capable of giving them away. Millions upon millions of them.

Some people just can't understand that though. Can't imagine why.

Free is free. Remember there's other options besides storing them. You can prank someone, sell them, or give them to your scared Grammy! #themoreweknow
Ahh the old, "get covid so your covid test shows positive" prank, that's a classic 🙃🤨

For sure. If you are sick with ANYTHING you should stay home from work, doesn't really matter what it is.

Thanks, more useless tests for the wife to use every time she has a sniffle. I say useless as when I had Covid and spent a night from hell on the bathroom floor, it took four days until these stupid things displayed the obvious.
These tests aren't entirely foolproof, but they're pretty accurate. FWIW, there's also this thing called "user error". I'm sorry you had a shitty time of it, but for each one of your stories there are fifty where these were actually very useful.

How can a TEST stop spreading anything!?! If your sick with ANYTHING then stay home and get better. The problem is people loading themselves and their children with Tylenol to hide symptoms and continuing on. They even said the vx doesn't even stop the spread. All part off the plan Stan.
Holy moly it's not that hard! If someone in your household or a friend's or relative's household tests positive they can quarantine or at least stay away from you or you can stay away from them.

Gloves aren't going to help.

I think they've said they should generally be ok with the cold. Summer temps are worse.

last time we had this, it was unexpired of expired product. initially they were like good for 1 year, then they marked it up to 2 years and shipped out bunch that were longer than 1 year. free is free, but i suspect it could be the leftover of the same batch. haha.

Gloves? Gloves don't stop coughs. Gloved hands that are coughed into spread the same germs as ungloved hands that are coughed into, as well.

Dunno why this is being posted today. I'm pretty sure they haven't added any tests to allowances in months. I just tried and it said I've reached my limit, and I haven't ordered any in a while.
The gov't is discontinuing the offer for these COVID test this week. This is the last chance for anyone to get them. They should remove that limit crap because the people that actually utilize this benefit are the ones who have already reached the limit
