For the uninformed. I work in IT in healthcare. The test are not going to stop you from getting COVID, they will let you know you have COVID. What you choose to do with this information is up to you and, let's face it, your employer. For us it means working from home for at least the day (for a non-positive result) or working from home for at least the week (for a positive result). We care about our coworkers and have the ability to protect them from getting sick. Which in turn protects them from spreading it to their families and patients.
We are lucky enough to have an employeer that cares about spreading disease and are lucky enough to have the ability to work from home. One of my coworkers is currently working from home because he is sick and I appreciate him for it.

I've been on SD for ages and I never get why people feel the need to argue about stuff like this. If you don't want the test, think it's stupid, whatever, don't sign up for it then. If you want it, great, get it.

tl;dr - chill out with the fighting

If you have a certain Kaiser plan, they give you home test for free. Its 4 boxes of 2pk max a month per person.

Love the "I don't wash my hands and still never got covid." There are smokers who don't get lung cancer, yet you probably understand those risks?

Anyways, maxed out on tests and insurance says no longer covering. Anyone found work arounds to get more? Blew through our stash around new years. I will say our experience is they were pretty accurate with early onset of symptoms and tested negative a few days after symptoms went away. Seemed to work well.

My wife and I contracted Covid and used our old expired tests which produced bupkiss. We ended up going to the Urgent Care to get confirmation. I have no faith in these expired kits.

I do not think you can order at all. I also only got 4 tests and it tells me I reached the limit. I think we were supposed to place a second order back in September 🤷 ♂️
When I placed my order, it said I could place a second order.

Thanks! These are great to keep on hand so I can get myself out of obligations such as birthday parties and other gatherings.

I don't think you need to be a health care professional do understand a test is simply a test.

Wow. Just read through the entire thread. I'd like to remind everyone that we're here for the deals.

We all get it that not every deal is going to appeal to every member. The level of animosity and the bickering going on in this thread is shocking and as a community we're better than this. My experience with covid isn't going to be identical to anyone else's experience with it, maybe some similarities. Same applies to how each of us feel about it/view it. At the end of the day, getting into an argument with someone over it in a deal thread isn't going to change anything.

If this thread (or any thread on the forums) isn't for you, please feel free to move on to one where you can contribute in a constructive manner. Thanks

Breathe....by this time tomorrow you will have forgotten these posts. Differences of opinion helps thicken one's skin. This too shall pass.

I have been breathing, thanks Wink

Differences of opinion are what make the world go round. It's the way they're being stated and taking the thread off topic and bickering that isn't relevant to the deal. You or anyone else who'd like to continue this discussion are welcome to PM me so as not to take the thread further off topic Peace

Gloves aren't going to help.
They most certainly will - it's for Fashion<snap!>! If you mask, you glove. Wearing mask w/o gloves is akin to your belt and shoes not matching color, or wearing white after Labor Day.
Please, people, if you're sick/coughing, mask up! And if you're masking, wear some fun gloves!

Just be aware these tests are highly inaccurate. The last two occasions where I tested positive for covid at a doctors office or pharmacy swap testing. I took two at home tests prior for each case and these always read negative. Not to say these aren't good to have around to check but don't trust that these are very accurate. ( speaking with doctors seems a lot more false negatives than false positives)
Do you use allergy medicine or Biotin? They can give you false negatives. There may be some other medications as well, but these are two that I am aware of.

if you can't get why people need to argue that's a big problem right here. these tests are not free, we are taxed on every single thing and it's for what? THIS? I thought USPS was constantly losing money and I thought their purpose was to deliver mail, not to be a front for pushing medical stuff around.

Either way, there is a lot to argue about here. These tests are simply not "free" and someone is footing the bill. That right there is plenty to argue about.

I'm guessing that the supply of tests are starting to get closer to the expiration date and this is why they are sending out so many at a time. It started out with two free ones, then four, now eight!
