If you're not an electrician you don't really need either of these for diy stuff. Get a cheap $30 off amazon. If you're a pro go with the fluke all day over this. The fluke will stand up to being used everyday for years if that's what you're going to do otherwise you're kinda wasting money imo it's like buying a tank to drive to McDonald's

Yeah I'm not clear how a Klein Tool is a Klein Rebrand. I use Klein tools a lot, this has great features for the price, and they are rugged enough for my purposes, and seem to be accurate which is the main thing. This is the "Tough Meter" line and it seems sturdy.

That Fluke 302+ looks like a cheap toy compared with this, and at $90, and not close to the specs. Once you get close to the specs with Fluke you are out of the price range. Fluke is fine but don't need it or want to wait for the miracle deal if you need something now. Comparing Apples and Wishes. Sale is over anyway, but I got it and am super happy with it.

klein does not make this tool. klein is not and never was designer/producer of test equipment. this is some chinese $10-15 multimeter that kline contracted to sell under their brand name.

i have very similar device that i bought on amazon a few years ago for $20, and i have a second one that i bought for $35 that does DC current.

this klein device only does AC current. so it is the same as my $20 device. if it had DC current, then i can see asking for extra money because dc current measuring circuit is more money. but it does not have the dc current so paying $80 for this device is completely nuts to me. the fact it was 120-130 originally is beyond nuts, for me.

i think i got the turn of phrase wrong.

what i was trying to say is that klein does not specialize in test equipment. this means this device is just some chinese no name meter that klein found on one of the trade shows and bought to sell under their brand name.

no way would i pay 80 for meter that i can get on amazon for 20, but without klein name on it.

Thank you for the reply and info. I see now the CL800 does DC current, not this one. Also good to know they don't make these in-house. I will hold on to my republic credits for a Fluke deal.
