I have 3 of these that I got from Amazon at full price. It's a nice fan, if you're an attic fan believer then you'll like it. If you're an attic fan hater then you'll comment below about how attic fans are bad because they suck cool air out of the house and make your AC work harder. To each their own

That is the whole house fan you are referring to

That is all variable by your location's day and night temp swings, humidity, etc.. Sometimes used for just the attic though. The thought being the sun baking the roof all day heats up the attic air and removing that superheated air actually helps the AC cool the conditioned areas of the house.

Is brickseek even usable anymore? Even with an account the platform seems like it doesn't work.
Also would this be beneficial in a new house? Or is it for more for less efficient homes?

Depends how big the gap in your ridge vent is, what climate. I live in Florida and my heat pump is 20 years old so these definitely help.

Need 2 of them to make it work right. Need one pushing in fresh air and one pulling out hot attic air
Not necessarily but I would definitely have one to push and pull if I were to do it. Have been debating it for a long time. I have two whole house fans but was thinking about an attic fan as well to try and keep the temps down during the day.

If you plug it in and test it, secure it! It will move and cut you into pieces if you aren't careful.

Two fans are not needed if you have sufficient soffit and/or roof vents.

Bought 3 of the 4 at Lodi, NJ at $16 each but left one in violated box for someone else to try their luck. Brickseek says nearby Hackensack, NJ store has 13...

Says someone that very obviously doesn't know what they are talking about. While that in principal works under perfect conditions including both thermostats activating at the same time and having exact flow, it's not how attic ventilation works at all and no qualified person would design it that way.

Bonkers good deal, but none in my state, or the entire state next door, so they are probably very regional or rare. You got lucky.
Definitely could be regional as I saw a bunch in the NY metro area.

I bought the last 4 at the Brooklyn store, I don't have an attic so what else can I use these for?
I don't see why with a few modifications it couldn't be a shop fan or fans . You can hang it or add feet to it and let it rest on the ground. I'm in Philadelphia none in my area , as coincidence I need to take a ride out to north Jersey tomorrow where I see inventory . I plan to make shop fans out of them if I can get my hands on them !
