Phenomenal price (75¢/oz) on Beef Jerky at Ollie's Bargain Outlet, a closeout store with 500 locations in the US.

Cannot browse or purchase online. You have to go to the store, so the link is to the store locator here: https://www.ollies.us/locations/

It may not be in stock at your store, so very much YMMV.

I bought a bag and took the photos. It's pretty good - better than Jack Links. Quite tender, a little sweet and peppery (should be sweet with 9g sugar/serving!).

Ollie's also has many other brands of Beef Jerky hovering at low, but at more "normal" prices of about a little over $1/oz. One of them is Pemmican Jerky which they sell for $11.99/12oz, and has been in stock at my local store for years, so I'm thinking they have plenty and will get more. The Pemmican jerky sells on Amazon for about $25 [amazon.com]. I don't like Pemmican as much as the KW Ranch jerky or Jack Links.

Additional discounts:
- 10% discount to active duty, reserve, and retired members of the U.S. armed forces
- 15% off your first purchase by signing up for Ollie's Army (their frequent shopper card) if you aren't already a member. But, signing up is a pain in the butt and you have to go to the store to get a card, then register online, to get your 15%. I wouldn't recommend it unless you are buying a LOT of jerky.

$0.75 is pretty good, not great, but pretty good.

If you have a Grocery Outlet by you, sometimes they will have dried meats for about this price or cheaper. These are all YMMV of course.

I usually like my jerky to be lower in sugar as well, but I figure at this price, I'm not parsing the ingredients too much. If it was over $1/oz, I'd want a nearly sugar free jerky.

I'm also not sure I totally believe the 9g/serving of sugar. With a serving size of 28g, that would be 1/3 sugar by mass. For that to be true, it would be glazed or caked with sugar like a honey jerky, but it's not. No visible chunks of sugar. It's also just a little sweet - less so than your typical teriyaki jerky. I'm thinking that sugar was in the marinade (or whatever process machines use) and some if it may have been lost in processing, not making it into the actual product.

As for the ingredients, I don't see anything truly offensive in significant quantity. Yes, sulfites and maltodextrin are there, but way down on the ingredient list - deep in the below 2% territory.

I can't make my own jerky for this price - even if I buy cheap round on clearance for $3/lb, by the time I'm done with marinade ingredients and losing 60-75% of the weight of the beef dehydrating it, it ends up being more than this. That said, my jerky is sugar free and tastes better, but probably less tender.
