Should add "digital" to the title. I came here thinking it was for physical discs

I agree with the other commenters. I consider digital "purchases" to be extended rentals. This movie is too important to me to not have a physical copy.

At $5 I think it's worth it, we used to pay more than that at blockbuster for hot releases, and get stuck with late dues sometimes...

They do. It's "fine". The bitrate is not great compared to, say, iTunes, but it gets the job done.

I agree, great, but too long. I bought all 3 extended versions approx. 4 years ago when the 4k version first came out. I have not finished any of the 3 movies. I keep getting up, pausing them, interruptions. I no longer buy digital movies longer than 2 hours.

It depends on your set up. If you have the set up to take full advantage of the physical discs, it's a fairly noticeable difference. I only get digital for things i don't care much for. And only if they're deeply discounted. That way, i can justify it in my head as a rental (digital purchases aren't permanent)
Glad to see more people realizing this. nod

The same applies to games. Get physical whenever possible.

Yes, it's very apparent when you move or visit another country. You lose your collection cause the distribution rights are different, or worse, the service you were using to purchase digital only exists in the US... Even VPN doesn't help as they block your account for suspicious activity. Permanently gone.

for games, once the service is no longer supported, they pull the plug on your games. No more games. out a out of money with nothing but memories to show for them

This is a complete scam. The only way to watch the movies in 4K UHD is via an XBox One X/S. You can't even download them in 4K. If you plan on watching them via Plex, the MS app, PC, etc., you'll be watching them in 1080P.

Click the "See System Requirements" and look at the UHD Section. It reads the following: UHD - Xbox One S or Xbox One X with a connection to a 4K television over HDMI 2.0a with support for HDCP 2.2.

Want some cheese with your whine. I have zero issues with MS or xbox websites. 4k looks amazing with my xbox. I used to hate buying movies on iTunes, couldn't use my android phone, had to login on a laptop. always forgot my password. But the world hates whiners.

LOTR is always a good deal. For anyone looking for an even more "extended" version, the dramatized version of the audio book is online for free. They do a heck of a job if you want to dive deeper into the story.
