I've purchased 16 factory refurbished Seagate Exos drives from Server Parts Deals. All have been running great with no failures. With that said, according to the website these drive have approximately 35k hours of use. That's four years of life on a drive that has a typical life expendency of 5 to 6 years. I would pass on this one.

Personally I'd wait for the goharddrive deal to come back around. Better warranty, proven customer service. The one year warranty kills this one imo.

The other deal for refurb HGST 12TB drive, same price $80, was better. According to Backblaze data, Seagate had horrible drive failure rates, while HGST drives did very well.

I bought 2 of these drives from this company in Dec 22. They have been spinning in my blue iris system since then. I did pay $105 each for them.

Bought two 12tb drives before. Works fine. 🤞

The $80 drive is seller refurb. Manufacturer recertified is $110. Have different lengths of warranty. Not sure if there are big differences between seller and manufacturer recertified.

Had a friend tell me not to buy these drives... Used to work in data centers.... But it's so cheap

I have 4 drives so far. 2 16TB and 2 12TB. No issues in 2 years.
The drives are packaged pretty good when they ship them as well.

I got the same $105 for 12 TB Exos X18 drives a year or more before and the good thing ... they didn't charge tax for me to TX and free shipping. Yes, they have been running great. These are not Exos drives but the company is reputable. Buy with confidence

Serverparts was good last year - Their prices have skyrocketed - The Sales Dept is a joke and they could care less about retaining repeat customers. Does not matter if you have bought 50 or 100 drives from them in the past, they don't care. Never bothered to call me back.

35k hours on drives rated at what, 2.5 million hours MTBF?

funny I said something similar about Goharddrive (ie, I have used Serverpartdeals and had never heard of goharddrives). So I guess they have both been around for a while.

That being said— the site says these drives have 35,000 hours on them. Isn't that too many hours?
